The touchless lid opening works using a motion sensor located in the upper part of the Siguro Motion Open L400SU bin, which detects movement exclusively directly above the lid, not around it. The lid opens automatically when the sensor detects a hand or object at a distance of approximately 15–25cm above the bin. This targeted sensing is intentionally designed to prevent the lid from opening when simply walking past, but only when you actually intend to throw something away. For the sensor to function correctly, it is advisable not to place the bin directly under low shelves, windowsills, or other obstacles above the lid.
